HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - A convicted armed robber had five more years tacked on to his sentence for escaping the Hawaii Community Correctional Center.
In April 2023, Dyllan Paulo-Leslie, 29, fled HCCC after scaling a fence, triggering an 18-hour, multiagency manhunt.
He was caught the next day near Hilo High School.
Paulo-Leslie was serving a 20-year sentence for the 2022 armed robbery of a Kailua-Kona restaurant and firing a gun at a police officer’s vehicle.
The sentences will run consecutively.
