Police are actively pursuing leads into Wednesday evening's hostage situation and bank robbery at 1st National Bank’s Choc branch.
The incident, which has left many in shock, involved armed bandits who accosted three bank employees on their way home and forced them back to the bank.
The masked gunmen intercepted the employees, confiscated their mobile phones, and drove them to Mount Pleasant, a remote area nearby. There, the robbers bound the staff members, with one individual being thrown into the trunk of the vehicle.
The driver was then ordered to return to the bank, where the criminals accessed thousands of dollars from an ATM machine that had recently been relocated to the side of the building.
