The last of six Texas men indicted for bank robbery in connection with the attempted robbery of an ATM machine in September 2020 in Jonesboro was sentenced Tuesday to 33 months in federal prison for the offense.
Alvin Jackson of Houston was accused of participating -- along with Judah Frankhagen, Dreshawn Anthony, John Joubert, Ronnie O'Bryant Jr. and Reco Ross, all of Houston -- of attempting to break into a Regions Bank ATM in Jonesboro in the early morning hours of Sept. 2. 2020, during what authorities said was a multi-state spree of ATM robberies.
According to court records, two individuals tried to break into the ATM at the Regions Bank branch at 617 Southwest Dr. in Jonesboro about 1:45 a.m. using tow chains attached to a Ford F-250, later reported stolen from Centerline Electric, to pull the cover from the ATM. Although they were unsuccessful, damage to the ATM, which was rendered inoperable, amounted to about $35,000.
