Effective June 30th: Phase Two of Supplementing Data Security Requirements

Phase Two of Supplementing Data Security Requirements goes into effect on Thursday, June 30, 2022. This rule requires that account information be rendered unreadable when stored electronically. Third-parties and ACH Originators (merchants, billers, businesses, and governments) who send over 2 million ACH payments per year should take steps toward updates if they haven't done so already. Nacha recommends ODFIs reach out to their customers who will be covered by the rule so they are aware of and know how to implement any changes.
