AMARILLO, Texas (KVII) — A bank robber stalked a teller on social media before the robbery and threatened to kill the teller's family.
Only ABC 7 was in federal court Tuesday when Whitney Rose Garcia pleaded guilty to one count of bank robbery.
According to court documents, Garcia walked into the Bank of America at 3440 Bell Street on October 17, 2023. She was wearing a wig, black mask, black long-sleeve shirt and purple scrub pants.
Garcia handed the teller a typed note that said she had a gun and demanded $8,000 from a "particular account."
The note also said: "if you alert the police, I have someone listening to a scanner. I also have one of your CO-WORKERS working for me."
