Hurricane Gustav Update

The New Orleans branch fared well during Hurricane Gustav. However, due to the need for city officials to clear roads and stabilize local infrastructure, the Branch will remain closed for Tuesday, Sept. 2. A decision on whether the Branch will open on Wednesday, Sept. 3, will be made Tuesday and posted on this Web site. Cash
Although the New Orleans Branch will be closed on Tuesday, Sept. 2, accommodations can arranged for institutions with special cash needs. If your normal currency and coin ordering channels are unavailable, please use the following contact numbers to place an order: (877) 553-9735, (504) 593-3227 or (504) 593-3379. If you are unable to reach these numbers, call (504) 593-3200.
Checks
As a result of Hurricane Gustav, the Federal Reserve Banks anticipate delays in presentment of inclearings and/or return of cash items, especially those drawn on depository institutions in areas subject to mandatory evacuations.
Sixth District:
At this time, no paper check presentments or return of cash items will be made to Sixth District institutions located in Louisiana on Tuesday, Sept. 2. Attempts to deliver will be made to Alabama and Mississippi institutions. Sixth District institutions electing to close on Tuesday should contact Check Customer Support center at 1-877-553-9735.
Eleventh District:
The Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas expects to make deliveries to Eleventh District institutions located in northern Louisiana. Eleventh District institutions electing to close on Tuesday should contact Check Customer Support at 1-800-591-8019, option #1.
Check Deposits:
Information will be provided on Tuesday, September 2, on the availability of deposit stations in the New Orleans zone
