Are you Prepared for International ACH Transactions?
IAT regulations that will become effective on September 18, 2009. What sometimes comes as a surprise is that every RDFI and ODFI will face new regulatory requirements regarding the IAT amendments to the NACHA Operating Rules. The NACHA rules will require every ACH payment entering or exiting the United States to be identified and formatted as an International ACH Transaction (IAT) and that each transaction must be reviewed (or screened) for OFAC compliance. Every financial institution needs to understand how it is impacted by the new IAT rules and be prepared for the acceptance and review of these items. Acceptance of these items is mandatory. Penalties for non-compliance with OFAC's regulations can be severe.

Keys to Success in Managing Originator Risk
Many originators and third-party senders go out shopping for an ODFI these days and they are making interesting offers to get you to be their ODFI. Will you know what to do? With the increasing focus on risk management in the ACH Network and NACHA's recently implemented ODFI reporting requirements rule, many ODFIs are rethinking their relationship with some of their originators/third-party senders. As ODFIs drop these entities because of potential fines, they start shopping around for a new ODFI. Each ACH originator represents their own level of risk based on specific criteria. This session will provide you with tools and information to make good decisions about new originators and to mitigate potential risks with your existing originators.

This session is lead by participants that have taken proven steps to improve their companies' efficiency ratio through use of branch and merchant capture, ACH, outsourcing item processing, web-based cash management, and statement delivery, all of which resulted in significant cost controls, reduction in courier service and improved customer service.
